Russian-accented English is deep and firm, with rolled R's, soft consonants and often no little words like 'the'. The tone sounds calm and very sure.

The line to say

โ€œIn my country, this is not cold. This is spring weather. Take off the jacket.โ€

How to do a Russian accent

  1. Roll the R clearly: 'rrreally', 'countrrry'.
  2. Drop 'the' and 'a': 'Take off jacket', 'This is spring weather'.
  3. Turn 'h' into a throaty 'kh': 'khello', 'khot'.
  4. Use one short 'ee' for both 'live' and 'leave', and keep a low, steady pitch.

The most common mistake

Making it too fast and lively; keep it slow, low and matter-of-fact.
