How to do a Boston accent
- Drop the R after vowels: 'cah' for car, 'pahk' for park, 'Hahvahd'.
- Use a broad, front 'ah' that sits between 'a' and 'ah'.
- Add an R between vowels at word joins: 'idear of it'.
- Speak quickly and keep the tone flat, with a sharp hit on 'wicked'.
The most common mistake
Dropping R's but using posh British vowels; Boston's 'ah' is flatter and more nasal.
