How to do it
- Pick one note and stay on it for the whole line, with no rise for questions.
- Give every syllable equal length and a tiny gap: 'Greet. Ings. Hu. Man.'
- Clip the ends of words sharply, as though each one is switched off.
- Keep your face and shoulders still; any expression in your body leaks into the voice.
The most common mistake
Letting a natural tune creep back in on the longer words or the last sentence.
